On the morning of July 23, 2022, the High-level Seminar on Jointly Building the Land-Sea New Corridor was held at the Haosheng Hall on the 7th floor of Chongqing Yurong Haosheng Hotel. The seminar is hosted by the Institute of Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce and the Port and Logistics Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, and organized by the Logistics and Operation Center of the Western Land Sea New Channel and Chongqing Co., Ltd. of Land Sea New Channel Operation. The meeting was chaired by Hu Hongbing, Deputy Director of the Port Logistics Office of the Municipal Government. The attendees included Yu Xiang, Deputy Director of the Asia Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Gu Xueming, Dean of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, Ba Chuanjiang, Director of the Port Logistics Office of the Municipal Government, Chen Wenling, Chief Economist of the China International Economic Exchange Center, Deputy Director of the Executive Bureau, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee, leaders of the leading department for channel construction in relevant provinces (regions, cities), leaders of relevant municipal departments in Chongqing, leaders of leading departments for channel construction in relevant districts and counties, leaders of key enterprises, and leaders of universities and research institutions such as Chongqing University of Commerce. Associate Professor Zheng Qiang, Director of the Investment and Trade Institute of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies of Chongqing Business and Technology University, was invited to participate in this seminar.

At the meeting, Yu Xiang, Deputy Director of the Asia Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Gu Xueming, Dean of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, and Ba Chuanjiang, Director of the Port Logistics Office of the Municipal Government, delivered wonderful speeches. Chen Wenling, Chief Economist, Deputy Director of the Executive Bureau, and Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the China International Economic Exchange Center, gave a keynote speech. Chen believed that the Western Land Sea New Corridor has formed a deep connection between domestic and international markets, making a number of ports active and becoming a major artery in promoting the China Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor. It has initially formed a railway network, highway network, water transportation network, and modern logistics hub system, greatly strengthening the pace of infrastructure construction. Chaired by Zhang Wei, Vice President of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, relevant leaders of provinces, autonomous regions and cities along the line, such as Chongqing, Guangxi, Xizang, Hainan, Guangdong and Hunan, conducted in-depth discussions on jointly building a new land sea channel in the west. This seminar will help enhance the research capacity of the center in carrying out the construction of the Western Land Sea New Corridor, and further strengthen the communication and exchange between the center and the Ministry of Commerce's Institute of Trade and Economic Cooperation, Chongqing Municipal People's Government Port and Logistics Office, and promote the high-quality development of the center.
